Liguria is an Italian region of north-western Italy of 1 550 640 inhabitants, whose capital is Genoa.

It is bathed in the south by the Ligurian Sea, in the west it borders with France (Provence-Alps-Cote d’Azur region), in the north with Piedmont and with Emilia-Romagna and in the south-east with Tuscany. The region is part of the Alps-Mediterranean Euroregion.

The Cinque Terre and the Gulf of Poets, the Gulf of Tigullio, Genoa and the Golfo Paradiso, the Riviera delle Palme and the Riviera dei Fiori form the famous Ligurian coast which stretches from Ameglia to Ventimiglia for more than 300 km. Along this itinerary, spectacular for the beauty of the land and sea landscapes, the most famous tourist resorts of Liguria are: Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Sestri Levante, with its enchanting Baia del Silenzio, and Chiavari. A succession of wide beaches, marinas and scenarios to be explored which, in the evening, leave room for fun and shopping.

Sanremo, the city of flowers, known for the Italian Song Festival and for the Casino, the refined Bordighera and Alassio with its 3 kilometers of fine beach, Varigotti and Laigueglia are some of the “gems” set in the Riviera di Ponente.
